Fedor - The Reign of the Last Emperor Continues

If I did not watch the Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers event, I would have thought Fedor eked out a win over Brett Rogers after reading the mass media accounts of the fight.

A true MMA fan knows that this fight was vintage Fedor. There is always one moment when it appears that the impossible (Yes. Impossible) can happen. Kevin Randleman dropped him on his head. Arlovski landed some solid punches. Tonight, Rogers cut Fedor open and landed a combination, but Fedor still won. Easily.

This fight was not even close. Aside from the opening jab where Rogers cut Fedor, and the moment he landed five punches in a row, Fedor had complete control over Rogers. It was Fedor that was tossing the larger Rogers to the ground less than a minute into the fight. At 2:40 in the first round, Fedor took Rogers down again and nearly finished him with punches. Later in the round, Rogers landed five punches, but Fedor nearly ended it all with an arm bar. When the bell rang, it was Fedor on top with Rogers exhausted.

The second round opened with Fedro taking the center of the ring and Rogers looking scared. Who could blame him? I would not want to be standing in a cage with an assassin.

With 3:20 left in the second round, Fedor landed a strong right punch on Roger's chin and dropped him. Big John McCarthy ended the fight seconds later after Rogers was left curled up in the fetal position in the center of the ring.

That is how it all went down. Fedor dominated and lived up to the hype. Welcome to America, Fedor!
